Who does the testing
Amelia Ame, Founder & lead tester. Runs every VPN on this site through the same rig, every month, and writes up what the numbers say. Her profile page has the rig she tests on, what she will and will not do, and everything she has written here.
Editorial rules
- Every VPN is tested on the same hardware, with the same five criteria and the same weights. See how we test.
- Rank order is the score order. Nothing else moves a VPN up or down.
- We pay for every subscription. Providers get no preview of results and cannot request edits.
- Negative findings stay in. A logging incident, a breach or a failed streaming test is reported on the review, dated.
- Every page shows when it was last tested and when the next re-test is due.
- We never link to cracked, modded or pirated VPN apps, and we say plainly when a free VPN is unsafe.
How the site makes money
Affiliate commissions from some of the VPNs we review, paid when you buy through a link here. Commissions fund the subscriptions and the test rig. They do not influence ratings — the disclosure page explains exactly how the links work.
