How she answers
Emilia is not a search box with a personality. She has direct access to our test data and calls it live: filtering 42 tested VPNs by your requirements, pulling a full review, comparing two side by side, or running the real cost of a plan across three years including the renewal rate. What comes back is what she is allowed to say — she cannot invent a price, a speed or a discount, because she has nothing to invent from.
That is the difference worth knowing. A general chatbot will confidently tell you a VPN costs $2.99 because it read that somewhere in 2024. Emilia quotes the number we checked at the provider's own checkout on September 4, 2026, and if she does not have something, she says so.
What she is good at
Narrowing a shortlist when you half-know what you want (“something cheap that does Netflix and covers four phones”), settling a two-way decision, and the question almost nobody asks until it is too late — what the thing will actually cost in year three, once the introductory price rolls over. She will also tell you when our own top pick is the wrong choice for your situation, which is the part that matters.
What she is not
She is an AI, and she will say so if you ask. She can be wrong, so anything that matters is worth checking against the full review. She is not support for a VPN you already own — the provider's own live chat is better at that. And she has no idea which providers pay us more, because the answer plays no part in her recommendations; the arrangement is set out in the affiliate disclosure.
